Taurus 1984 drops new single ‘America’

Taurus 1984 are pumping out the singles for what’s shaping up to be a highlight release for 2022. After hitting us with the swinging Newjack title track for their upcoming Modern Romance album last month, the Swansea duo are back with the album’s opening song. As with the album’s 3^rd single ‘Rosebud’, ‘America’ features the talent of Karl Lewis on lead vocals and delivers a retrowave-meets-EDM pop anthem with his flashy performance paired with glossy synth leads.

Swansea duo Taurus 1984 are prepping for what appears to be a smashing full-length debut. Following up on the dazzling ‘Rosebud’ featuring Karl Lewis, ‘Modern Romance’ is the fourth single and title track to the group’s upcoming album set to release on July 1^st of this year. Mixed and produced by the one and only Michael Oakley, the song keeps the party going with a slick late-80’s to early 90s’new jack flair and features vocals by All Together Now winning singer Shellyann Evans.

Last Friday, Welsh Future Funk label My Pet Flamingo put out a shiny set of reissues for Luxury Elite and Saint Pepsi’s Late Night Delight. Considered a major classic in the Vaporwave genre, the 2013 record is getting the long-awaited, top-tier physical release it deserves. Fully remastered and featuring brand new artwork by Vaporwave artist VANITAS命死, Late Night Delight is getting reissued in three vinyl colors, on cassette and even on Minidisc!

With memories of concert halls and live performances slowly but surely slipping away into our nostalgic collective unconscious, UK Vaporwave duo Donor Lens have hammered the final nail in the coffin with an album on which live music meets it’s A E S T H E T I C maker.

Recorded in September of 2020 in an East London studio amidst a UK lockdown, Live At Pink Bird breathes redefines the boundaries of Vaporwave by rearranging Donor Lens’ back catalogue for a 6-piece live band performance.
