Zimmermann explained with a laugh: ” I wanted to focus on re-makes of 80’s cartoons and anime, as well as iconic game consoles – with a focus on Japan, of course. I loved combining console soundtracks with synthrock, anime with synthwave… everything in a crazy provocative melange of retro sounds. Hence the title PornCoreSynthRock2!”

This aptly titled album is filled with fuel-injected synth, the perfect score to any high-speed chase action thriller. Blending retrosynth with 80’s action movie influences as well as a hint of darksynth and cyberpunk, “Speed” is definitely an interesting mix of genres and influences.

However, the brilliance of this album is that while it shines in intensity, it also offers a lush, sometimes romantic soundscape that doesn’t feel completely overshadowed by the action. Achieving this melodic balance with powerful, driving synthwave is no easy feat, and here Turboslash has completely nailed the mark!
