If it’s true then he’ll be involved in some way. If he reprises his role of Officer Mahoney this will be the first time he’s back in uniform since Police Academy 4: Citizens on Patrol. But, the tweet was in response to someone asking about the progress of the rumored production.

A new Police Academy movie was first talked about back in 2012. Key and Peele were at some point involved in the screenplay a few years ago and Scott Zabielski was in negotiation to star in the sequel but, no further word has been announced on his involvement.

So was this a real update on the film or just people involved in the production just using words to keep some interest in the film?

That’s right guys. After a long run of 8 movies, Police Academy is set to make it’s return to the big screen. Guess who is also going to be producing it…

It seems that 80’s remakes and reboots are going nowhere, and may pick up steam in the upcoming years.

Certainly will be curious to see what this movie would be like. As of now, there are no directors selected for the project. Will keep you posted as more info comes into play.
