The (somewhat unlikely) collaboration came into fruition as part of the promotion of CHVRCHES’ upcoming fourth album Screen Violence.

In turn, the band has also released a remix of John Carpenter’s ‘Turning the Bones’ (Lost Themes III).

 

Screen Violence certainly holds a lot of promise for retroheads with its thematic focus on onscreen violence and the band’s doubling down on eighties influences (Robert Smith of The Cure has namely collaborated on their recent single ‘How Not to Drown’).

 

Both remix tracks are available on vinyl via Sacred Bones records.

John Carpenter’s ‘Lost Themes III : Alive After Death’ was released on February 5, 2021 via Sacred Bones Records.

CHVRCHES ‘Screen Violence’ is scheduled to be released on August 27th, 2021 via Virgin EMI Records.
