Released last Friday, Engaged comes as a direct successor to his classic debut Hotline, released a full 10 years ago. Retro to the core, 80s Sly has gone out of his way to ensure a seamless transition between the two records, as though time had truly stood still. Given the thematic focus on phone lines, we’d usually express some distress at the idea of being stuck in an endless loop of hold music, but 80s Stallone’s return might just be the one occasion that will keep us on the line just a little longer…
